Creating memories with your kids is always a particular moment for any parent. You get to cherish these memories long after your children have started families of their own, and your kids will look back and fondly remember all the fun times they had with you after you’re gone.
With that said, it’s important to make sure that your kids are having fun on the trip. If you’re dropping by Melbourne sometime soon, we recommend these kid-friendly cafes for you and your kids to visit during your stay:
Cubbyhouse Canteen
Donning streamers and walls painted with pictures of trees, the Cubbyhouse Canteen may be small, but it’s just the right size for your kids. They offer up a vast menu with on the go lattes for the grown-ups and bento boxes for the little ones.
The staff is also very friendly towards kids, as they help set them up for fun activities like colouring and more. The Cubbyhouse Canteen is located on Union Street in Armadale and is open Tuesdays to Sundays.
Fordham’s Milk Bar
After a long day of doing kid things, your common toddler would love nothing more than to clock out of his playroom and head to the milk bar, possibly with mum and dad. Luckily, Fordham’s Milk Bar is right by the Hartwell Train Station, and they have just what they are looking for: a classic milk bar lolly.
It’s a great place to bring your young children for a treat as they can have their choice of whatever sweet they fancy, and even toys that they can play with. Parents don’t have to sit back and be bored, however, as they can order something for themselves like the Milk Bar’s famous bacon and egg roll.
Miss Marmalade
Miss Marmalade is located along Union Street in Brunswick and is a popular Northside destination. Kids love their large playroom filled with all the toys kids dream about. Parents can grab a table in that playroom so that they can keep an eye on their kids.
However, because of the cafe’s popularity, it can be hard to get a table in the playroom. Which is why we highly recommend calling in ahead and reserving a table. It can make for a pleasant surprise for your little one on their birthday or when you just feel like letting them have a bit of fun on their own.
The Foodrinkery
Nothing says fun childhood quite like a massive playground where kids can climb, slide, and swing. It’s an experience a lot of adults are yearning to regain some of their youth hopefully.
Take your kids to the Foodrinkery in Burwood for a weekend and let them play at the spacious outdoor area with the other kids, all while you sip some fantastic coffee, reminiscing all the times you climbed up the jungle gym and felt like you were on top of the world.
The Hungry Peacock and Busy Peacock
These two peacocks are located side by side along Tyabb Road and are great places to get your kids’ imagination running wild and allowing them to do something productive, and a place for them to wind down before finally ending the day to go home.
That’s right, the Busy Peacock offers a variety of activities for kids as they have a lot of toys and more, while the Hungry Peacock will cater to whatever food they are craving for after an intense play session.
Let your children create memories for themselves and experience these cafes just for the fun of it. You can even consider joining them to maximise the fun times. When the day is over, your child will undoubtedly be wiped out and out of batteries from all the activities they did. That’s why it’s a good idea to get a rental car in Melbourne to make sure you and your kids can get to your destinations safely and where your kids can take a nap on your way back to the hotel or inn.
